The Benefits of Straightener Feeder Machines

Choosing the best feeder system for your car or truck can be a difficult job to do, especially when you take into account all of the available options. When looking for the right system, there are many factors to consider such as performance, power, size, warranty, and portability. These factors can be overwhelming and many people become confused about what to choose from. There are many different types of coil feeding systems on the market including Decorse Straightener Feeder / Wirefeeder System, SuperFlow Coil Feeder / Wirefeeder System, TQi Direct Fit Coil Feeder System, and many others. All of these different types of feeders have their own unique attributes, which make them great choices for a variety of applications.

Deciding on the right type of straightener feeder can be extremely confusing and time consuming. Before purchasing a coil feeding system, the first step is to determine the purpose of the application and the cost-effective solution. The two primary types of feeders are Decorse Straightener Feeder / Wirefeeder System and TQi Direct Fit Coil Feeder System. Decorse uses stainless steel threaded steel linings while TQi uses fiberglass for the thread-up. If using a direct fit, the threads on the TQi will be stronger and will require a lower thread count which will result in a larger diameter.

The next factor that must be considered is whether you need an uncoiler or a standard coil handling equipment. Both styles of feeders can effectively perform their functions but the uncoiler requires more work and higher installation cost. If the application does not require the high installation cost of the uncoiler, the straightener can be used.

Once the purpose and the cost are determined, the type of application must be considered. Standard coil handling equipment requires a metal stamping line in order to feed the material. Depending on the material to be fed, the metal stamping line may be required to be longer or shorter. The installation process of the straightener will also vary from one application to another. When installing the straightener, the metal feeder machine is placed directly into the work area. Coil handling equipment must be properly installed and connected with a fitting so as not to interfere with the operator’s operation.

Finally, the cost of the application must be analyzed. Some of the components that must be purchased for these types of applications include an uncoiling machine, an electric or manual stamping press, an adjustable coil handling equipment, and an optional feeding drum. Other components that can be used in these types of operations include a die plate, an optional heat shield, and a platen press. These are the basic components of the application, and they can be further subcategorized depending on the requirements of the customer.

As a result of the various factors evaluated during the analysis process, the appropriate type of application must be selected. It is necessary to make sure that the straightener fits the application’s requirements and costs. Straightener feeders must be made of high-quality metals that can withstand high temperatures. Also, uncoiled coil handling equipment made of high-tempered alloys should be used for applications that require extreme temperatures.
